We teamed up with the Ann Bancroft Foundation to tell the story of Nat, a sophomore at Coon Rapids High School and the young artist commissioned to create this year’s gala invitations. Nat walks us through their process, the teachers and family who’ve championed their work, and the piece itself, an illustration of two girls playing by an anthill, inspired by Nat’s childhood fascination with bugs. The film also features a poem Nat wrote called “Greenery,” giving viewers a window into a young artist who’s already finding rich, layered ways to see and shape the world. It’s the kind of story the foundation exists to celebrate, one of many young Minnesotans they support through grants, mentorship, and creative opportunities for girls and gender-expansive youth.
