We headed out to the Mississippi River with the team at Mississippi Park Connection, the nonprofit working alongside the National Park Service to protect and steward the river corridor running through the heart of the Twin Cities. The three videos in this series follow park staff in the field as they walk through the long-term work of keeping the forests along the river healthy. One piece focuses on the practices that help sustainable forest growth take root. Another covers the ongoing fight against invasive species that threaten the trees and the broader ecosystem. The third looks at the climate change mitigation strategies the team is testing now, so the forests have a fighting chance as conditions keep shifting. Together, the videos offer a closer look at the science, the patience, and the people behind keeping this place alive for the long haul.
