The Walker Art Center has been a creative partner of ours for years, with work ranging from live performances and events to intimate, on-camera conversations with the artists they exhibit and present. The three pieces featured here are part of the Walker’s ongoing series of artist talks. Choreographer Maria Hassabi reflects on the sculptural stillness and sustained motion in her work STAGING. Visual artist Amanda Ross-Ho walks through OMEGA, a hand-built replica of the photo enlarger her artist parents used when she was a child, and the creative origins it represents. And choreographer Faye Driscoll unpacks her trilogy Thank You for Coming, exploring the temporary community formed between performer and audience. Sitting with artists and capturing what they’re chasing in their work is some of our favorite kind of work.
